Painting Update

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Here are some of my new paintings; I’m having lots of fun in the new studio with the boys.

These are all acrylic and permanent marker on canvas.

Backhoe and Octagon Pond, Looking North (both 24″x30″) are both for the landscape show on now at The Leyton Gallery in St. John’s. The zebra (12″x14″) is a gift for Scott’s niece, the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen. I mean person.

Oh my, look at all the goings on in li’l ol’ NL

A1C Gallery is celebrating the end of its first year! We hope you can come out and join us for this special event. Have a drink, enjoy the food, and bid on your own favourite work. All works in the exhibition will be available for purchase by silent auction. The reception and artwork bidding starts at 8pm. Admission to the event is $10 (free for participating artists) and it goes to a very good cause.

Please help us in getting A1C Gallery off to a good start for its second year.

And NEXT!

Here are a couple of great articles featuring Newfoundland artists and culture and the aforementioned A1C Gallery.

A NEW GENERATION OF ARTISTS AND ENTREPRENEURS IS PROVING NEWFOUNDLAND’S CAPITAL TO BE MORE THAN JUST A PRETTY SPACE

FINALLY

Werebears and Only Children has been picked up for another year in THE SCOPE, which excites me very much. As my pal Paul says, you know you’ve made it when you’re part of the refuse.  I can’t wait to see more from the other winners of the contest. You can see those and a mini profile of me HERE. I will really miss PEP, though. But I hear there’s an upcoming book!

I’m also very grateful to report that I received an EVA (VANL-CARFAC) Award for Emerging Artist of the Year.

As well, I was recently one of the winners at this year’s Arts and Letters Awards, with this painting, San Diego Bush Pig. You can view the other winners HERE.

Okay! I think that’s enough news and links for one year.
