Tut tut tut

Well, we went to see the big special Tut exhibition yesterday, since it’s only at the AGO for another couple of weeks. It was a bit of a let down.

For starters, here’s the ad they’re using:

Pretty exciting, right? On top of that, it’s called:

King Tut and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs Exhibition

“Oh boy!” you might be thinking. “I can’t wait to feast my eyes on that big, shiny sarcophagus! And maybe even a rotting mummy or two!”

That’s what I was thinking, anyway.

But instead, there are a bunch of neat statues, and then a bunch of the junk they found in Tut’s tomb. Some fans, some gold shoes, a bit of jewelry. A cruddy bed. Some jugs.

The whole thing reminded me of Minnie’s house in Disney World. You get to see her bed, her fridge, a shopping list, some odds and ends scattered about. But at least she shows up a couple times a day to pose for a picture.
