What is what

Today’s comic brought to you by the pursuit of knowledge (and the lack of something good on TV). FYI all of the questions were from today’s episode of Jeopardy!

Toronto Indie Arts Market May 25th

Next Sunday, May 25th, I’ll be tabling at the Toronto Indie Arts Market Small Press Festival.
It will be at the Gladstone on Queen St. from 10:30-4:30. Admission is $5 but partial admission proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Book Bank, an organization that supports childhood literacy by providing free books and literacy support to children in low-income neighbourhoods in the Toronto area.

I’ll have my Fat Bird mini, a Werebears mini, my cowboy/outerspace flip comic and my horror/romance flip comic, and a new minicomic about a salty old sailor that I’ve been working on for the past few weeks which I’m pretty excited about now. I hope to see a lot of folks!!

I’m drawing a Scott every day in February and posting them on Tumblr. There are 10 already!

Check them out over here.

Hourly Comic Day 2014

Oh my gosh it’s that time of year AGAIN. And it was a lazy Saturday, so I had no excuse.

Another Hourly Comic Day has come and gone!

Check out links to my past efforts over here! And 2013 is here: http://jbarrettart.com/2013/02/02/hourly-comic-day/

Here’s the forum where people will post their hourly comics.

A thing that happened

Toronto Indie Arts Market Small Press Fest

This Saturday, December 14th, I’ll be tabling at the Toronto Indie Arts Market Small Press Fest!

It runs from 10:30 til 4:30 at the Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen Street West.

See the list of vendors right here!

I’ll have copies of my new flip comic Bygone/Obsolete, two Werebears and Only Children minicomics, the new Fat Bird minicomic, and a new, not quite yet finished flip comic. I’ll also have some copies of Polternice! ready, for which I made a short 3 page ghost story.

Please drop by if you’re in Toronto, there’s sure to be something there to pick up for yourself or for holiday gift giving.

Happy Halloween!

Here’s a little ghost story I did for the Polternice! zine! There will be comics posted on the Tumblr soon and copies are available through myself or Mr. Keith Mclean, the zine’s curator! It is a lovely little book, let me tell you. But in a spooky way, of course. Click to embiggen.

New minicomics for sale!

My new minicomics are now up for sale at the Etsy shop!

Bygone/Obsolete (a flip comic) contains a short western called Bygone, as well as my sci-fi story, Obsolete.

Fourty-Five Fat Birds is a mini collecting the first 45 Fat Bird strips!

Have a look-see and maybe grab one or two!

You can also read Bygone in its entirety over here.

Canzine Toronto October 20th

I will be half-tabling at Canzine on Sunday, October 20th!

I’ll have my Werebears minicomics, a Fat Bird mini, and a new flip mini with my new Sci-Fi tale, Obsolete, and my almost finished cowboy short comic, Bygone.

Fellow TO comics buddies Keith Mclean and Kelly Bastow will be there along with so many other folks it’s gonna be pretty great. Look at this awesome poster:

Hey folks – apologies as I’m on holiday for another week or so and updates have been spotty! I’ll be back in full swing by the end of next week.

Summer Scope!

The fine folks at The Scope used my illustration for the cover of the summer issue!

Be sure to pick one up if you’re in the St. John’s area during July and August.
