TCAF 2011

Monday, May 9th, 2011

Yes this was TCAF weekend and it was pretty great. I attended 6 panels, which is my fave thing to do at conventions. I also picked up a bunch of books and got a few signed, which is also great. And on Saturday we went to the Doug Wright Awards, the awards for Canadian comics, hosted again by Don McKellar.

The highlight for me was the Chris Ware spotlight, in which he gave a short presentation on his past work, and I also got him to sign my copy of Lint, which Scott gave me for xmas. He’s my favorite cartoonist and I hadn’t seen him anywhere before.

As always, the show was wonderfully organized with the most amazing volunteers. I can’t recommend this show highly enough, and I hope I can exhibit there myself some day!

Minicomic Update

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Welp, I’ve finally finished drawing and inking my minicomic over the past couple of days and she comes in at a whopping 40 pages! The last one was a puny 24, so I’ve put my former self to shame! I just hope my stapler is up to it.

Next step is to scan, re-size, format, and copy the pages. I’m also going to Gocco the covers (that’s a verb, right?), and that will be fun. So, it should be ready in a few more weeks if I can stay on task.

PS If you’re on the Facebook a lot, you can “like” the Werebears there and get updates whenever new comics are posted.
